Nurse Team

Our practice-based nurses are highly skilled health care professionals and are now taking on more and more work that, in the past, was done by the doctor. They provide general health screening, ear syringing, travel injection and advice, immunisations, cervical smear tests, dressing/wound care and general advice/counselling.

Members of the Practice Nurse Team also have special interests in Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis management, Diabetes, Hypertension, Coronary Heart Disease, control of long-term medication amongst other specialities. 

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out a variety of tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, dressing changes, B-12 injections and reviews (e.g. hypertension, diabetes), amongst other duties.
