A community based physical activity charity with more than 125,000 weekly participants in the UK
- 5k parkrun events every Saturday morning in areas of open space
- 2k junior parkruns for 4-14 year olds and their families every Sunday morning
- Over 1,000 locations around the UK
- All events are delivered by local volunteers
- All events are entirely free to take part in
- parkruns are not races and there is no time limit - people can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate
- parkrun is open to all
- They are suitable for the whole family to take part in
All participants should register with parkrun beforehand, and bring their personal barcode to the event. There is a dedicated support site with FAQs, or alternatively people can contact the local event team using the contact details on the event’s website.
Haldon Forest parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 9:00am. It’s a free, welcoming 5k community event where people of all abilities are encouraged to walk, jog, run, volunteer or simply cheer others on - there’s no pressure and no expectations.
The event is entirely organised by local volunteers and is just as much about community and connection as it is about movement. Many participants stay on afterwards to enjoy a post-parkrun coffee at the Ridge Café, making it a relaxed and social way to start the weekend.
Whether you’re brand new to parkrun or a regular attendee, Haldon Forest offers a supportive, friendly and pressure-free environment where individuals, friends and families can take part together.
Parkrun works closely with healthcare organisations across the UK, including parkrun UK and the Royal College of General Practitioners, to support both physical and mental wellbeing through movement and community connection.
Across the country, GP practices are linking with their local parkrun events, encouraging staff, patients and carers to get involved in a way that feels supportive, inclusive and achievable.
Taking part can help people build confidence, reduce social isolation and develop long-term healthy habits, particularly for those living with long-term conditions - all in an environment that is free, non-competitive and pressure-free.
