Minutes of last meeting

Were approved with one amendment, under section 5. The word Complaints should be replaced by Concerns in both places.

News from the Practice

Claire announced the good news that the work of Wellbeing Exeter of Social Prescribing, is being transferred to the Westbank Practice later this month.

At a meeting with Dr Wong, Claire and Nina, they agreed that Patients referred by Doctors be passed onto Westbank H L C,

A Community Link Support Worker will be based at the practice one day a week and will arrange for the suitable activities for the patient, enabling any treatment to be tailored locally. The service will be available to all Westbank Surgery patients.

The funding for the contract will be reviewed in March 2023.

The need for publicising this news to the patients was suggested.

Staff news

Dr Stephen Broome has become a partner.

Kerry Good who is a Community Support Ambassador and runs the memory café for Westbank, has offered to attend to Domestic Support correspondence.

Dr Ben Morgan and Dr Alice Clarke are to be salaried GPs.

The Practice are currently recruiting for a Receptionist/ Practice Administrator, a Paramedic and a Health Care Assistant.

Staff wellbeing

Claire set a photograph challenge for all the practice staff to illustrate a happy experience, to escape from the stressful pressures of work.  The results were excellent, many illustrating their pet dogs. The committee were tasked with choosing the top three photos, which made a pleasant change from the meeting agenda.

PPG Promotion

We reviewed David’s article ‘What is the PPG?’, with a few amendments made to reduce its length, it was proposed we get it circulated in the September editions of the Village Newsletters. With no August meeting this dead line will be challenging.

The article covers past and present activities of the WPPG and invites new members to join the group.

Discuss the PPG Constitution

We discussed the information detailed in our Constitution; we agree that there were only a few minor changes necessary, including the removal of the Practice address from the heading.

David will implement the changes proposed and arrange for it to be circulated.

Parish Council & Local Building updates

Nothing to report from any of the Parishes.

News from Westbank HLC

Their involvement in the work of Social Prescribing linked with the Westbank Practice were detailed above, in the minutes under News from the Practice.

The Bereavement Café is to resume in the autumn at the Westbank HLC centre.

Correspondence

In a letter from Helen Burchmore referring to the ‘Best Practice Guide’ document, she felt Westbank PPG measured up well.

We are trying to find a way to involve Virtual Members into linking up with the work of the committee.

We need to plan ahead, setting goals to organise activities that are of value to the work of the Practice and the Patients.
